Store Basics

Thoughts on questions you may have regarding my tape store:

I do appreciate if you keep minimum orders at $10. That said, I can't stop you from ordering less than $10. It's just a courtesy I ask. I'll fulfill the order regardless. Orders under $10 may or may not incur an additional shipping surcharge.

I don't “source” tapes. I get most of my tapes from eBay sellers or local stores in Chicago. (Like Reckless Records. Did you know they have 3 stores in Chicago, they lost their entire inventory online, but they don't ship anymore? So- I can go shopping for you. Email me with your shopping list and a we will talk a fair commission!)

I play test my tapes on a vintage Sony Sports Boom box. My backup is a modern Sony cassette boom box, and my backup backup is another 90s Sony boom box.

I love 90s plastic Aiwa cassette players. I have one of those too. Aiwa is actually making a snazzy new boom box too that's available from our Affiliate Sellers section. I make nothing on this. It looks cool though! 

I ordered some We Are Rewind cassette players for the site. I'm going to test one of them out and will only sell them if they're solid. The reviews are good! If you're Gabriel Sentiff please contact me for a discount on one. 

I will do my best to send tapes out in nice looking cases. I cannot guarantee that every case will arrive without cracking but I pack things well and I will never send you packing peanuts or excess trash. I recycle all my shipping and try to leave as little waste as possible.

I'm thinking of donating a monthly portion of sales to a homeless person each month.

I am buying tapes. I'm looking for 90s alternative and hip hop tapes. 

I'm selling Everyday Dose Mushroom Coffee because I love it but I can't stand the company’s predatory subscriptions. I was buying it in bulk for my co-workers. Suddenly I had like 4 subscriptions going. For 4 bags a month! I'm selling them to you at a better price than you will get from them and you won't have to deal with their bullshit subscriptions.

I don't really have a budget at the moment to buy and stock new indie tapes. Let's see how things go and if there is a demand down the line I will consider getting back into buying indie stuff. .
