Even if you’ve never heard Gang Of Four you’ve likely heard their sound (Dry Cleaning, Bloc Party).
Any fan of the band will cite Entertainment! as the masterpiece (just look at the spotify plays!). But this one is my favorite, if only for the track What We All Want, which is clearly the basis for both The Smiths’ How Soon Is Now as well as Rage Against The Machine’s Gorilla Radio.
Guitarist Andy Gill passing hit me just as hard as Eddie Van Halen. RIP to 2 of the greats.
